Tonight's TV picks: 'The Sound of Music Live!' and 'Glee' bring holiday magic

'The Sound of Music Live!' (8 p.m., NBC): Carrie Underwood and Stephen Moyer get their von Trapp on during a live three-hour reboot of the classic musical. The cast also includes Audra McDonald as Mother Abbess. 'Comedy Warriors' (8 p.m., Showtime): This decidedly offbeat documentary finds funny guys like Bob Saget, Lewis Black and others helping to heal severely wounded war veterans by teaching them the art of stand-up comedy. Laughter, as they say, is the best medicine. 'Glee' (9 p.m., FOX): In the holiday-themed midseason finale, Rachel, Santana and Kurt get elfish when they score jobs working for a mall Santa.

'The Muppet Christmas Carol' (9 p.m., ABC Family): Michael Caine fights for screen time with Kermit and Fozzie Bear, while trying to play it straight. A tough challenge, indeed, but Caine pulls it off wonderfully, and with feeling.
