The first ever South Walton Fashion Week is now officially underway. The multi-day event kicked off with a party Thursday night at the Southern Fashion House Headquarters run by local designer Stephanie Carter.
Carter's Judith March and Jacque & Janis lines originate at the Santa Rosa Beach location which also serves as a distribution center, supplying her designs to 1200 retailers, including her local DeJaVu stores. 'A lot of people wouldn't imagine a design firm here in Florida,' said Southern Fashion House CEO Christy Smith. 'I think that we are a company running a business in a place that is not typical, in a space not typical, so we just wanted to invite people in to show them what Stephanie has done with this warehouse. We are excited to share that with the community,' said Smith.
Carter is one of the exclusive runway partners for South Walton Fashion Week which is a fundraiser for the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County.
