EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: CHELSEA KANE from ABC Family's 'Baby Daddy!'

Happy Monday everyone! This morning we were able to catch up with the lovely Chelsea Kane from ABC Family's 'Baby Daddy!' Chelsea is moving on to her third season on the show, and trust us when we say there is so much more to tell! She plays Riley, who gives the storyline so much life! Going from your not-so typical next door neighbor, to falling in love with your best friend, but also becomng a godmother! So much has been going on, and she was able to give us an inside scoop on everything!

Fanlala: What has your experience been like working on 'Baby Daddy?'

Chelsea Kane : The best ever! It's definitely been my favorite cast that I've ever been a part of. Not that I haven't been blessed working with people I have worked with in the past, but there is something special about this group of people. From the crew, to the actors, writers, directors, producers.. They are the closest thing I have to a second family. This is one of those projects I want to go on forever, because I can't imagine not going to work with this group of people every day.

F: List three words, starting with the letter F, that describe your cast.

CK: Haha, I would say.. Funny, Fabulous, kind of Freaky..

F : So how do you think your character grown/changed from Season 1?

CK: In the beginning she would be on the defense from time to time, hiding her feelings for Ben, feeling uncomfortable in her own skin, which led to her embarrassing herself. Now she is one of the gang. She has spent a lot of one-on-one time with Ben to Bonnie to Danny and Tucker, allowing her to become more comfortable, more opinionated, and also having a larger sense of humor and sense of self. I mean, the lines of Chelsea and Riley are blurred. In the first season I was having fun, but at the same time I was absolutely terrified, shooting in front of a live audience. Now going into third year, I feel like I get to play more, which is coming through Riley as well.

F: So it seems that the end of Season 2 was very intense.. Can you tell us what happened?

CK : So finally at the end of Season Two, Ben and Riley get together. Anyone that has been a fan of the love triangle knows this was a nice payoff. It is surrounded around Riley's birthday, and this is actually the first time you see her at 16 in a flashback episode. You come to learn why Riley hates her birthday so much. Ben wants to make it up to her, but of course it all falls apart. Riley ends up blindfolded on a subway with no money. After this, she runs into her own surprise party, where Ben finally comes clean. Season 3 picks up where she left off. The two are together and figuring everything out, however some issues arise since Angela (Emma's mom) comes back into Ben's life.

F: Do you think this relationship with Ben will last awhile?

CK: We were really hoping it lasts awhile, but Angela is back and she is still harboring feelings for Ben. As happy as Riley is that her childhood fantasies are coming true, she loves Ben and Emma too much, and doesn't want to feel like the other woman. Emma deserves to have a family and Riley doesn't want to be in the middle of that.

F: Tell us about the Christmas special coming up this week.

CK: For me, this season is when u want to believe in everything again. Being that it's Emma's first Christmas Ben wants to get her the perfect toy but of course it is impossible. He decides to get a job at the mall and work for Santa as an elf. On the other hand, Bonnie is the queen of christmas, setting up everything so it is perfect for the holiday causing a lot of stress. However, at the end, you remember what the holidays are really all about.

F: How was it working with Lucy Hale as a special guest?

CK: Lucy is great. Actually, Lucy and I have been friends for a while, so it was great to work with her and have her on the show. She plays the complete opposite of what she plays on 'Pretty Little Liars.' She's the church girl, a very sweet little character. A lot of pastel sweaters.. very different from Aria. But yeah, she got along with everyone, and we would love to have her back anytime.

Wow! There seems to be a lot of exciting moments happening in this hilarious show! We are so happy to have caught up with Chelsea and have her let us in about the amazingness that goes on with her cast and crew! Make sure to catch her on ABC Family, and tune in for the 'Baby Daddy' Christmas special this Wednesday December 11th at 8:30/7:30c! Photo: Getty Images
