We've endured freak snow storms galore, ice, freezing cold, weather warnings and frequent frenzies for bread, eggs and milk. But soon, very soon, we'll stop asking when spring is coming and rejoice that spring has arrived. ¶ We expect it to arrive with a fanfare of trumpets and clouds shaped like fluffy animals. Flowers will instantly spring to attention in vivid colors with sweet scents, and the grass will be greener than the lawns of childhood memory.
Strangers will smile and some will skip while humming happy tunes. And the windows of buildings will twinkle in the golden light of the sun all day long.
Or ... maybe it will just be pleasantly warm enough to ditch our coats and break out the open-toed shoes, roll down our car windows and sit at sidewalk cafes before it swelters enough to make people complain about the heat.
Either way, daylight saving time is here, and spring can't come soon enough. We're ready to burst, so we'd like to herald the season with a riot of color. Bright lips, bright dress, bright shoes and bright smiles.
Forget the pastels and bring on the oranges, hot pinks and vibrant greens.
