Meet CMH Fashion Week Designer Pop Soisangwan

CMH Fashion Week launches on Sunday, Oct. 12, with a High Fashion Tea and wraps up on Saturday, Oct. 18, with the 5th Annual Finale Runway Show. Ten local designers will send their looks down the runway, as will headliner Althea Harper. Here, meet designer Pop Soisangwan.

Name: Pop Soisangwan

Age: 35

Residence: Lima, Ohio

Credentials: I finished a degree in fashion merchandising from Ashland University. I have started my own clothing line. Now I have sales representative in three territories, which are New York, New England and the Midwest. My merchandise is available in boutique stores in those areas.

My story: I want to make clothes that create confidence in the wearers-clothes that women want to wear. The mission of my company is to create outfits that are outgoing and strong, but at the same time, sweet and feminine.

Personal style: Feminine with a clean look

Style staple: A shift dress. You can always play around with it.

Favorite designers: Karl Lagerfeld, Diane von Furstenberg and Donna Karan

Favorite three pieces in your closet right now: Flare pants, silk button-down shirt and a white silk shift dress.

True style is... sophisticated looks.

This collection: In this collection, I use cotton and silk, which are soft to the hand and complement a woman's figure. Hand embroidery and hand dye silk are also used in this collection. The woman I'm designing for is a world traveler.
