Don't wait for that evening party to pull out your metallics! This season, try metallics for day, too.
Are you tired of your black-and-white wardrobe, but not quite ready to jump head first into color? Try adding a little bit of shine to your look instead. I find that I rarely venture that far past white, black, and navy in my wardrobe, but the spring runways sparked a solid love of metallics in me-especially these three designers below!
Daytime metallics for beginners: a little pop of metallic does the trick. Layer over a lustrous mini skirt or shorts, like Marc by Marc Jacobs. You can even use your accessories to stand out - check out those awesome metallic sneakers!
Taking this trend one step further, grab a longer skirt to flaunt the sheen, but pair it with a casual top in a similar hue, like Altuzarra. This look will make your monochromatic dressing a little more interesting.
Would you ever wear metallic during the day? Head-to-toe or little accents? Let us know what you think of this spring trend below.
If you want to mix it up a little bit, try styling a printed or textured metallic piece with a bolder, contrasting pattern. Adding to our print-mixing guide, this Dries van Noten skirt is bold enough to bring life to your look, but still a solid color, allowing you to pair it with another pattern.
For the truly adventurous among you, try head-to-toe metallic, like our May cover star. To start you off, try out some of the below pieces.
