Though store buyers probably didn't have this mind when they acquired the pieces, they complement Kohl's latest big-name design collaboration, Peter Som.
Som's just-released island-inspired collection of tops, dresses, skirts, shorts and jackets have a breezy beachy vibe; there's little pop of bright colors or bold prints. (Prices are around $45 to $85.)
The featured accessory lines are from Call It Spring, Jennifer Lopez for Kohl's and Shelly London and range from $12 to $140.

There's only one thing stylistas love more than a good deal and that's a good deal for a good cause.
Here's the deal: A $50 ticket to an afternoon lunch Thursday at Cucina Enoteca in Del Mar buys you a two-course meal, a fashion show, a glass of wine, coffee or tea and $25 shopping certificates at TRE Boutique and Maggie B., whose looks will be featured. (Both are Cucina's neighbors at Flower Hill Promenade.)
The cause: All proceeds from the luncheon fashion show will benefit the nonprofit Promises2Kids, an organization that helps foster children through four core programs (Polinsky Children's Center, Camp Connect, Guardian Scholars, and Foster Funds).
The menu: Cucina Enoteca chef Andrew Bachelier will prepare local Dover Sole with olive tapenade, green and yellow wax beans, fingerling potatoes and arugula (a vegetarian option is available upon request), plus a dessert of yogurt panna cotta, with poached rhubarb, crispy feuilletine and sweet grape saba syrup.
The details: Thursday, April 17 at 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; Cucina Enoteca, 2730 Via de la Valle, Del Mar. Tickets, $50 per person, can be bought here.
