Fashion Week Continues to Rock San Diego's Port Pavilion!
San Diego Fashion Week continues to rock America's finest city with its second runway show of the week. With what seems double the audience from last year's show and with it's first class, state of the art production, this years Fashion Week San Diego seems to be the talk of the town. The audience will be able to cast their vote for their favorite designer using an application on their smart phone. The winner will be announced Sunday at the trunk show event. With some familiar faces returning to the runway as well as new faces this event was sure full of creative talent this year.
Last year's contestants and San Diego designers Dos Caras Swimwear presented their adorable swimwear collection, which left me already wanting to place my order. Dashing down the runway in flirtatious and feminine new collections. Pastels of mint green with a touch of feminine lace, my personal favorite as well as rich Navy blues and pastel pinks seem to be the colors of the season. This dynamic designer duo sure understands what makes us California girls look undeniable!
One of my favorite designer's of the night was an amazing hat designer company named Green Pacha. Not only are these hats eco friendly, stylish and beautiful but also each hat is uniquely hand woven in the foothills of Ecuador. Green Pacha Panama hats are hand made using a special Ikat technique and grown from a seed found only in Ecuador. Now bringing the Latin American tradition to the runway in stylish hats in all styles and colors blending fashion with sustainability never looked hotter. My favorite hat is the black hat, which looks stunning and elegant and can be worn on a jet set trip to a posh resort and the yellow traditional hat that can be worn from casual day at the beach to a day on the town. Whether you're stepping into a posh resort or hiking in the jungles there is a hat made just for you! Argentinean designer and CEO Florencia Gomez Gerbi founded the company after living in Ecuador and getting inspired by the traditional hat making process. Her amazing creations can be found in stores throughout the world.
Another amazing line that captured my eye is RH Creations. Presenting their resort wear 2014 Spring/ Summer collection down the runway. Belizean designer Richard Henderson grew up in the beautiful Caribbean Central American country of Belize. The natural beauty and the vibrant rich colors of the Caribbean inspired him, which reflect, in his new collection. In this line the beautiful hibiscus flower native to his homeland, which can be seen, inspired him in his gowns. His resort wear is absolutely stunning with a touch of feminine, sophistication and glamour. What better city to wear these stunning creations but San Diego, a coastal resort city known for it's glamour and beaches. Richard Henderson, a veteran in the garment industry draws his inspiration from his surroundings and inspired by the lifestyle and colors of San Diego and the Caribbean.
The show finished off with an adorable heart warming doggie runway show presented by the Rancho Coastal Humane Society, which was an official sponsor of Fashion Week San Diego. The goal is to find these adorable pooches a permanent home with the help of the audience. The audience got an opportunity to adopt the adorable four legged divas after the show. The show continued in the after party at Stingaree nightclub in the Gas Lamp Quarter what an end to successful and fun filled night!
