One designer looked to Shanghai for inspiration while another went All-American. Cheryl Wills checks out the collections of B. Michael and Zang Toi at Fashion Week.
A brilliant shade of Green is the color of choice for designer Zang Toi. His lavish and sparkly collection is a nod to the opulence of Shanghai, China in the 1930s.
'I decide I want to go back to my Chinese roots and I think maybe it just all worked out and my dad passed away unexpectedly two-and-a-half months ago so it work out to be, it's a perfect tribute to my dad, so I hope I put on a beautiful show that make dad happy,' said Toi.
Toi unveils 34 elegant looks that make brilliant jade the 'it' color of the fall season. We're sure his beloved dad is happy and so are we.
B. Michael also decided to stick to his roots and presents a fall/winter 2014 collection that is all about the U.S.A. The fashion genius uses masks to unmask a divine spectacle of style.
'It's all about being American. So it's the point of view of an American designer. It's about American lifestyle, modern approach, I should say, to the American lifestyle,' said Michael.
'I can wear them, you know I'm not a fashion person, I'm an athlete and I can wear them. I can see myself in them and they flow so nicely, I love the colors,' said Olympian basketball legend Gail Marquis.
From bold and daring plaids to red carpet worthy evening gowns, the B. Michael America brand is quintessential American.
