The Humane Society of Harrisburg Area is observing 'Shelter Sweetheart' week with a 50-percent discount on 50 shelter sweethearts.
Fees for animals that must be adopted together are 50 percent off the first adoption and the second adoption is free.
A Valentine's Day party will be held 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Feb. 15 with a bake sale, hot dogs, hot chocolate and discounts on merchandise.
Adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, first round of vaccinations, microchip, deworming, FeLV/FIV testing for cats and 30 days of pet health insurance.
Adoption fees normally range from $80 to $114 for cats and from $112 to $201 for dogs, but will be offered during the promotion at half off for selected pets. Normal adoption policies and procedures still apply.
