TWC News: Fashion Week: Alon Livne Turns to Silver Screen for Latest CollectionPlay now
One designer known for working in Europe with names like Alexander McQueen and Roberto Cavalli's fashion house has come to the Big Apple to show his looks for fall and winter. NY1's Jessica Abo filed the following report.
For his third New York Fashion Week collection, Israeli designer Alon Livne turned to the silver screen.
'I was inspired by the early '20s silence films, such as 'The Sheik,' which tells a beautiful love story between a young lady and a Moroccan sheik,' Livne said.

Livne's line up is full of organic shell-like shapes, hand embroidery and intricate beading. And while this 28-year-old is known for dressing celebrities like Beyonce and Lady Gaga, he said that he designed these ensembles for all the leading ladies out there.
'In most of this collection, it's really wearable. It's not t-shirt and jeans, but still, you can have the glamour look,' Alon said.
'I love headpieces. I'm someone who loves accessories, so I wear them all the time,' said TV personality Paris Hilton. 'Especially, I was living in Dubai for a few months, and that's kind of a very Middle Eastern thing. It's very beautiful, and I think they look perfect with these dresses.'
'I love sparkles, and I'm wondering what I have to do to get into those pieces myself,' said stylist Faustina Rose.
'I'm lucky because I have less hair and a small head, so it fits under there really well,' said Androgynous model Elliott Sailors.
So whether you're off to Paris or spending time in Tel Aviv, these silks and sleeves will make you look like a star.
'He's just so talented. It's really nice to see him growing up and moving his stuff here to New York and to the whole world,' said stylist Yoni Cohen.
Right now, you can only buy Livne's looks in department stores, but he said to keep an eye out, as there are plans in the works to open a New York flagship store in the near future.
