Los Angeles Fashion Week Recap: ConceptLA Fall/Winter 2014

Between two stage sets, ConceptLA delivered both informal presentations and runway shows showcasing what's to come for Fall/Winter 14 to a crowd of trendsetters that just looked 'so L.A.' Here's a recap of the designers we stumbled upon, and based on the shows, our predictions for fashion during the upcoming seasons.

Have you ever noticed that each season's fashion trends featured in your favorite magazines are essentially the same trends from the year before, just with slight upgrades? It's not just you. In viewing Mathiasen's Fall/Winter 14 Collection, we're confident he's noticed as well.

In an informal presentation, Mathiasen showcased a collection reminiscent of all that has been Fall fashion trends for the past two years: exposed hardware, hues of oxblood, mustard yellow, burnt red and orange, and leather detailing! However, Mathiasen takes the seen-before Fall trends a step further by striking the perfect balance between masculinity and feminine flare.

The final verdict? Mathiasen's Fall/Winter 14 line is so on-trend that it's practical and safe. The collection will resonate with the modern woman that needs to add some edge to her everyday work wear.

Leather, leather and more leather. From pants to vests, moto jackets and even single shoulder overalls, leather dominated the runway during our preview of Wayward's Fall/Winter 14 menswear collection.

While it's commonly known that leather (even faux) is a staple for the colder seasons, Wayward's collection differentiates itself by embracing not-so-common hues and textures. The line showcased pieces in shades of rich red, cognac and chocolate brown. Our fave was a textured cognac moto jacket paired with brown leather pants - but we're pretty sure the average beau can get away by pairing this with dark denim.

We can't forget to mention having the privilege of sitting next to social media star, Iman Crosson, A.K.A. Alphacat. Men, please take note from Alphacat who already had the go-to menswear Fall outfit locked down: denim, a white tee and Wayward.

Envision a Great Gatsby themed flapper party, but strip down the dresses, and you've got what was Saturday's informal presentation by Aeneas Erlking. Her lingerie collection is flirty, romantic and channels everything we love about being a girl!

Within her collection are pieces in lace, polka dots, tulle and the curve ball: metallic! Earlking's line includes two printed robes that shine beyond the rest in a slate blue metallic tone - we fell madly in love with these pieces to the point where we began imagining the robes with outfits that would allow us to rock the pieces outside of the bedroom!
