Chicago pet events through February 2

The cold winds may be blowing through Chicago, but there are plenty of Chicago pet events to keep you warm. From fun at the indoor dog park to trivia nights and Karaoke for a Cause an early Valentine's Day open house and don't forget the Puppy Bowl. Check out the details below and join Chicago's pet rescues for a great time.


Sunday, January 27

Chicago- It's way too cold for a day at the Dog Park, unless it's an indoor dog park. Swing by DoggieWorks at 2338 North Nelson from 3 to 7 for Indoor Dog Park Night. There will be fun and games and lots of equipment for dogs to play on. This great Chicago pet event will include music, games and hot dogs. Adults at $10 and kids and dogs free. RSVP to this site prior to the event.


Wednesday, January 29

Chicago - Are you ready to test your trivia knowledge? Join Tree House Humane Society and Geeks Who Drink for Quiz for a Cause at the Grandview Tavern at 1202 West Grand from 8 to 10 p.m. Players are asked to donate $5 each. Come out with a group of friends to form a team...or join one once you get there.


Thursday, January 30

Chicago - You don't need to sing for your supper when you can sing to support rescue. It's time for a new Thursday night tradition - Karaoke for a Cause - at Chicago Party Animals t 1133 West Fulton Market from 6:30 to 9:30.


Bring your dog to this Chicago Pet Event that includes no cover but lots of fun. Vendors will be on hand and will donate a percentage of proceeds to Secondhand Snoots Rescue.


Friday, January 30 and Saturday, February 1

Yorkville - Fur Angels is holding a special Stamping and Scrapbooking event at the Yorkville Congregational United Church at 409 Center Parkway. Friday's event will be from 3 to 8 or 9 p.m. and Saturday's runs from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. There is an admission fee and there will be stamping and scrapbooking products to purchase along with classes...proceeds will pay for some of the rescue's veterinary bills.


Saturday, February 1

Milwaukee - It's time for another Great Lakes Pet Expo at the Wisconsin Exposition Center At State Fair Park at 8200 W Greenfield Avenue in West Allis, Wisconsin from 10 until 5 p.m. There will be vendors and lots of rescues present with their adoptable pets. Parking is $5, Admission is $6 for adults with children under 12 free and veterans with military ID free.


Chicago - Famous Fido Rescue is hosting an adoption event at 5430 North Clark from 11 to 4 p.m. Come by and meet the pets looking for home and enjoy hot cocoa and cookies. Doggy rescue cookies to help support the rescue are also available.


Chicago - Get an early start on Valentine's Day with a special Valentine's Open House at Harmony House for Cats in Chicago at 2914 North Elston from 1 to 4 p.m. There will be chocolate and wine pairings for a $2 donation, kitty kissing booth, button making stations, 15 minute green tours at 2 and 3 p.m. All kinds of fun goodies from vendors and Harmony House on sale as well.


Sunday, February 2

Chicago - Cheer on Chicago's two representatives in the Puppy Bowl at Deuce's and the Diamond Club at 3505 N Clark Street from 2 to 4. Join ROMP Italian Greyhound rescue as they cheer on two of their own Taser and Sharpie on Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl leading up to the Super Bowl. Details here.
