Dallas men's retailer Need partners with New York Fashion Week Men's Day


Dallas men's curated retailer Need is partnering with New York Fashion Week Men's Day, providing the online buying platform for designers.


Need, which launched less than a year ago, announced today that it will sell fall/winter 2014 clothing for brands that are showing at Men's Day on Sept. 3. The event, showcasing 10 brands, will kick off New York Fashion Week.


Need also has exclusive rights to take pre-orders for the brands' spring/summer 2015 collections, CEO Matt Alexander said.


Alexander characterized the Fashion Week partnership as a big milestone for Need. The partnership has its own site at nymd.neededition.com.


The Dallas startup launched in November to sell a curated collection of men's apparel and accessories monthly. It has raised $500,000 in funding.
