New Generation Fashion Tour From Italy To Debut At Close Of New York ...

Uomo Moderno, a fashion and lifestyle magazine from Italy, is launching the first New Generation Fashion Tour from Italy with the New York Fashion Week Italian Collections event, which will be held at the close of the New York Fashion Week on September 12.

At the event, the men's and women's collections of young emerging designers from Italy will be showcased, including Nico Didonna, Rumjungle, Lvchino, Francesca Marotta and Malph.

As this is a brand new event, we wanted to learn more. We caught up with the publisher of Uomo Moderno, Francesco Di Maio, who offered more insight into the event.

1. What was the inspiration behind launching the New Generation Fashion Tour from Italy event?

'I had several motivations for launching. First, I noticed that many people are familiar with established Italian brand like Dolce & Gabbana, but few people realize there is a new generation of talented designers in Italy.'

2. As you mentioned, emerging Italian designers are featured during the event, what was the selection process like in choosing these individuals? 3. The tour begins in NYC before heading to Philadelphia on September 19 to coincide with the city's fashion week called the Philadelphia Collection, any plans to venture beyond those two cities?

'Secondly, I wanted to bring Uomo Moderno magazine to life by not only reporting on Italian lifestyle but also creating an event where our readers could experience firsthand Italian fashion, luxury, music and style.'

'Various criteria were applied in choosing the designers, including the quality of their workmanship, marketability of the collection and the balance between creativity and wearability. In addition, each collection represents a different style, ranging from casual streetwear to contemporary classic.'

'Although we are in no rush, we hope to take the tour to other cities in the future. Possible locations include DC, Chicago, Boston, LA and/or Miami.'

'We also try to tailor the event to each city as shown by the different names: New York Fashion Week Italian Collections and the Philadelphia Fashion Show from Italy. This may take time, so we invite everyone to these two cities in the meantime.'

The New York Fashion Week Italian Collections will be held at 320 Studios on 320 West 37th Street, 14 ^th New York on September 12.
