The Hollywood Reporter floated a report that New York Fashion Week's title sponsor Mercedes-Benz might bow out of the event. And other sources told The Hollywood Reporter that IMG and owner WME are in talks with new brands about sponsorship. Mercedes wouldn't comment, but IMG told The Hollywood Reporter: 'Mercedes-Benz is a valued global partner of ours across fashion, sports and several WME-IMG properties, including Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York, where they remain our title sponsor.' Other sources wondered if Mercedes-Benz's threat to bail is a negotiation ploy.

Meanwhile, IMG is planning to leave Lincoln Center, NYFW's home since 2010, and move to a new venue beginning in September. The Hollywood Reporter suspects NYFW's new venue will be in downtown Manhattan. An insider told the paper: 'The general consensus is that it's just not cool to show at Lincoln Center.' · Mercedes Threatens To Bail On New York Fashion Week [Hollywood Reporter] · This Was the Fashion Week Nobody Won [Racked] · All The Cool Designers That Won't Show at Lincoln Center [Racked] · Five Major Changes to Expect at Fashion Week This Spring [Racked]
