Once you take the runway and red carpet out of the equation, most every day fashion words are pretty straightforward. When we hear polka dots, crops or V-necks, most of us get the picture pretty quickly.
But as fashion cycles and the runway runs into our daily lives, things get a little more difficult. To lend a hand, I've compiled a list of terms you might see while shopping this spring.
Short for 'body conscious' and used to describe dresses or skirts of the body-hugging variety. A classic example of this is the bandage dress made famous by Hervé Leger.
4. Gingham Generally found in a medium-to-large checked pattern with white and one other color. Imagine the pattern on a conventional picnic blanket.
