Paris Fashion Week, which began Tuesday, is in full swing, and Los Angeles Times fashion critic Booth Moore has her stylish boots firmly on the ground and has been filing dispatches left and right. So far she reports a dowdy-chic vibe at Alessandro Dell'Acqua's first collection for Rochas, an Op Art rave at Dries Van Noten, and a global mash-up -- in more ways than one -- at Jun Takahashi's cult Japanese label Undercover. Wearable technology has its challenges -- and we're not just talking about making something that's functional and fashionable. With Google Glass one of the hurdles is public acceptance. In today's Business section, Jessica Guynn writes about a recent tussle in a San Francisco bar that stemmed from one patron wearing a pair. [Los Angeles Times]

Olga Kurylenko will be bringing a little bit of green -- as in eco-friendliness -- to the Academy Awards red carpet Sunday, tapped to wear a gown created with sustainability in mind (designed by French fashion design student Alice Elia) as part of the Red Carpet Green Dress program. And the greenest guy in the room? That may be Kellan Lutz who last week was revealed as the wearer of the program's first eco-friendly tuxedo design. [All the Rage]

If you're looking for a wild and woolly respite from the red carpet hype in the run-up to Sunday's Academy Awards, you might want to tune in to the Nat Geo Wild channel at 7 p.m. Saturday for the debut of 'Shear Madness,' a new reality show that focuses on the farm -- and family -- of Natalie Redding, the 'yarntrepreneur' we profiled in the Image section back in 2011.
