Greenacres will consider banning the sale of dogs and cats from pet stores to keep commercial dog breeders, or 'puppy mills,' from setting up shop in the city.
Councilwoman Paula Bousquet made the motion at Monday's meeting, saying if the city deceased the demand for puppy mills, more people would adopt pets from reputable breeders. The council agreed to discuss the issue at its March 3 meeting.
