Coastal Church Calendar for Friday, April 11, 2014

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9


WEST SIDE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 269 Mohawk St., Mobile, will hold Lent Luncheons at noon each Wednesday beginning March 26 and ending April 16. The cost is $6. Rev. Jean Tippit, senior pastor at Grace UMC, will speak.


FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF BAY MINETTE, 1201 Hand Ave., Bay Minette, will host an Easter Eggstravaganza from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9. There will be outdoor games, an Easter egg hunt and hot dog dinner. Everyone is invited. Dr. Chip Starnes is pastor.

WESLEY CHAPEL UNITED METHODIST, 1161 Michigan Ave., will hold a Women's Prayer Breakfast at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 12. Guest speaker will be Rev. Sheila Bates, director and campus minister at Tuskegee Wesley Foundation.


NEW HOPE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 5343 Fowl River Road, Theodore, will hold an Easter Egg Hunt for children in the church and community at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 12. There will be prizes for all children. For more information, call the church at 251-973-2285.


MARLOW UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, at Baldwin County Rds. 9 and 28, will host its Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 12. Children of all ages are welcome and should bring baskets. Food and refreshments will be provided. For more information, call 251-988-8563.


SPRINGHILL AVENUE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 2519 Spring Hill Ave., will hold an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to noon. There will be crafts, games, food and an egg hunt for children under 11. Bring an Easter basket.


LIGHT OF THE VILLAGE, 333 Baldwin Dr., Prichard, will host a community cookout and Easter egg hunt from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 12.

SATURDAY, APRIL 26


MARLOW UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, at Baldwin County Roads 9 and 28, will hold its annual yard sale and monthly fish fry on Saturday, April 26 at 11 a.m. Plates include USA farm-raised catfish filets, coleslaw, baked beans, Team hushpuppies and a choice of homemade desserts, with tea or coffee. Children plates are available with chicken fingers or corn dogs. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Takeout may be ordered by phone at 251-988-8563. Proceeds go to the church building fund.


GUY'S CHAPEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 55080 Rabun Rd., Rabun, will host the 6th Annual Rabun Community Bluegrass Gospel Festival on Saturday, April 26, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Groups include Hillspring Drive, The McCrays, Unknown Bluegrass Band, The Sand Spur Band, The McPherson Family and other local singers. Food and drinks may be purchased. Participants may bring lawn chairs and refreshments. In case of rain, the event will be in the church fellowship hall. A love offering will be taken. ST. JOAN OF ARC CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1260 Elmira St., Mobile, will host The Mobile Deanery ACCW Card Party on Tuesday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In addition to table games, there will be a luncheon, silent auction, a 'split-the-pot' giveaway, and a basket, and door and table prizes. Participants are asked to bring tables, cards and a favorite game. Takeout lunches will be available. Homemade goodies will be for sale.


SATURDAY, MAY 10


WEST MOBILE BAPTIST CHURCH, 7501 Airport Blvd., Mobile, will hold an Arts & Crafts Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 10. Door prizes will be awarded. All proceeds will go to missions. Admission is free.
