September's London Fashion Week will welcome a new, very impressive name to the schedule; Marchesa.

The brand, founded by British designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, usually shows at New York's bi-annual fashion showcase, where its studio is based, but will relocate for one season only to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the brand.

'We had been speaking with the British Fashion Council,' Chapman told WWD. 'We felt it was a good way to celebrate our anniversary.' Craig added: 'It's a one-off celebration in London, and then we are back [in New York] in February.'

'It will be a different experience,' added Chapman. 'All our English friends and family can get an opportunity to celebrate with us.'

Chapman and Craig met as students at the Chelsea College of Art in 1994 and established the label, which is named after Milanese Marchesa Luisa Casati, from Chapman's London flat in 2004. Their red carpet-worthy gowns quickly became popular with Hollywood starlets and they are now a mainstay at awards ceremonies such as the Oscars. They produce ready-to-wear and couture lines, as well as bridal wear and more affordable secondary line Notte.

Chapman is married to movie mogul Harvey Weinstein and will act as a creative consultant when he relaunches the Charles James brand.
