Designer Vanessa Seward will make her Paris Fashion Week debut for the fall 2015 season with the help of French contemporary chain A.P.C.
A.P.C. has decided to back the designer's signature fashion house, which will allow Seward to present in Paris next spring, as well as open a number of freestanding boutiques next year, WWD reported. Seward plans to begin with a store in Paris, which is slated to open in September 2015. The designer also wants to open up shop in New York City and Los Angeles. Additionally, the line will be available for wholesale.
This isn't the first time A.P.C. and Seward have worked together. A.P.C. founder and owner Jean Touitou previously tapped the designer to create five capsule collections, which were sold at all of A.P.C.'s 62 stores, in addition to specialty retailers such as Net-a-porter. Seward's sixth and final capsule collection for A.P.C. will debut in September.
Right from the beginning, Seward's collection will include day and evening clothing, in addition to shoes, bags, belts and costume jewelry. The designer said she wants to create a 'chic, timeless wardrobe. I want to do clothes that you keep.'
'I'm going to be able to go further with my own design identity. I'm probably gaining seven years. I'm very conscious of this,' Seward told WWD.
Seward has worked previously at Azzaro, where she helped put the brand back on the international fashion map, Chanel under Karl Lagerfeld and Yves Saint Laurent during 's early years there.
