As Seen at Couture Fashion Week, Bandanas Are Having a Moment

Couture Fashion Week has officially kicked off in Paris, and we've already got our eyes on one easy-to-wear accessory from the fall runways: chic bandanas! Before the models hit the catwalk at Giambattista Valli donning the summer-perfect hair trend, our beauty director Angelique Serranocaught a peek at the primping process backstage. Here's the scoop on the trend:

According to Orlando Pita, who incorporated the '50s-inspired accessory ( above), bandanas are having a moment-and once you consider their many benefits, this won't come as a surprise. Headscarves are super versatile and are an easy way to spice up any outfit. They're also a must-have in the warmer temps, as they'll keep your strands off your face and neck, not to mention offer a chic solution to those dreaded bad hair days. Recreating the look takes minimal effort, too. To start, Pita says to make a low center-parted ponytail and then pin it up before wrapping a scarf around the head. Simply tie it in a knot on top to finish.

As for the makeup, Val Garland used a total of 6 MAC products ( above), including Care Blends Essential Oils ($21; maccosmetics.com) and Mineralize Foundation ($34; maccosmetics.com), to achieve a bare-faced look. For the same dewy glow, Garland recommends mixing a face oil with your skin serum and massage it in, or you can use olive oil instead. 'Slip on liquid foundation wherever you need it,' she adds. 'Or, you can just top your facial cocktail with tinted moisturizer.' Want more Couture Fashion Week?Keep up with all the major fashion moments in our gallery!
