'Fashion Rocks' To Return To CBS During New York Fashion Week

'Fashion Rocks' is about to make a major comeback.

The fashion and music TV extravaganza, which last aired in 2008, is slated to return in September. 'Fashion Rocks,' which was founded by former Condé Nast Media Group president and Fairchild CEO Richard Beckman, is slated to air live for the first time during New York Fashion Week on CBS with Ryan Seacrest as the host.

''Fashion Rocks' is the only show that celebrates the inextricable link between fashion and music, a relationship that is more relevant today than ever before,' Beckman said in a statement.

'It will be a spectacular affair featuring some of the world's most talented musicians as well as today's hottest fashions.'

Despite its high rankings, 'Fashion Rocks,' which debuted in the early 2000's, has been on a hiatus since its 2008 show.

'When I started the show in '04, fashion and television didn't quite complement each other quite as well as they do today,' Beckman told Fashionista.

'It's sort of my baby, I always knew I wanted to bring it back.'

Afrojack, Duran Duran, Jennifer Lopez, KISS, Miranda Lambert, Nico & Vinz, Pitbull, Rita Ora, The Band Perry and Usher have all been confirmed to perform at this year's event, which is being produced by Don Mischer and will take place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

'It's a massive, global audience, so you're looking for people who appeal to all genres of music and you don't want to be too narrow,' Beckman said of the performers.

'Basically, you're looking for really top performers across multiple genres who aren't just outstanding performers, but also personify something in the fashion space.'
