Fashion Week aims to give designers international exposure

African designers have shown themselves to be world class in creativity and the Mercedes- Benz Fashion Week strives to expose designers regionally and internationally. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, which starts on Wednesday in the City of Tshwane, aims at giving African designers exposure. South African fashion designer David Tlale celebrates 10 years in the fashion industry. Speaking on Morning Live, Tlale says now it's about taking the Tlale brand to a global market. Director of Africa Fashion International (AFI), Nicholas Maweni says behind fashion there's always a serious business. 'South Africa is starting to capitalise on the business of fashion,' says Maweni. AIF takes a number of local designers and expose them internationally, helping them understand the behind the scenes of fashion. The fashion show has over 30 designers from 15 African countries with 20 runaways themed at fashion, art and design. Edited by Sindisa Baloyi
